Guidelines About How Muslim Sisters Can Perform Umrah?

At any time of year, Umrah is the most effective way to revitalize both religious and spiritual strength. In Islam, performing Umrah is optional as it is our beloved Holy Prophet's Sunnah. The essential rituals of Umrah are the same for men and women pilgrims as well. However, Shariyah highlights specific conditions for Islamic sisters that are distinct from those for men.

Must-Have Mahram:

Whether she is performing Hajj or Umrah, Muslimah must accompany her Mahram. It is also necessary for Saudi Arabia visas since the Saudi government would not provide a visa to any woman who does not have a Mahram. But now, the Saudi Government allows women above the age of 45 to perform Umrah without any mahram or with a group.

Ihram Conditions For Muslim Sisters:

Muslim sisters must cover their sat'ar with sewn cloths and also their heads must be covered. In the state of Ihram, a Muslim woman can wear gloves and socks, but she can't cover her face. So she'll need a hand fan or a piece of cardboard for covering her face, or she can wear a cap with a veil. However, make sure that the veil cloth should not touch her face while wearing these caps. In Ihram, she is not permitted to wear any makeup or scented perfume.

Tawaf For Muslim Women:

Men perform Ramal during the first three rounds of Tawaf, but women are not permitted to do so. It is advisable for Islamic sisters to keep a safe distance from the Holy Kabah while doing Tawaf. If a woman's menstruation begins during Tawaf, she must stop Tawaf and leave the premises of the Grand Mosque. Because her Tawaf is incomplete, she would then perform her Tawaf and Sa'i after she is clean from her menstruation.

Way Of Performing Sa’i for Islamic sisters:

Women should do their Sa'i at a normal speed. They are not permitted to run between the green lights of both the Safa and Marwah Mountains. To avoid being surrounded by men, women must walk along the wall or railing. On Safa and Marwah hills, Islamic sisters should not go too far. If a woman's menstruation begins after she has performed Tawaf, then she must perform Sa'i. As cleanliness isn't a conditional necessity for performing Sa'i. A woman who is menstruating can also perform Sa'i.

Men must trim their hair or shave their heads after completing Sa'i. However, the rule is completely different for Muslim sisters. They must cut their hair for the length of one finger.  Muslim sister will be free of Ihram constraints once she has finished cutting her hair.

May ALLAH Almighty accept our worships (Ibadah) and grant us the opportunity to visit His Holy House over and over again. Aameen.
